Where can I find the signal?
Leysin coverage map newly available!Here you can find an updated list of the addresses where the signal is present. Please note that in Leysin buildings are not numbered. For this reason the coverage cannot be defined by using house numbers. In order to give a better overview of the coverage a map of the town with the coverage is availabe here. The coverage has been tested on the streets with a laptop without an external antenna. A different coverage may be experienced by using different WLAN equipment.
Details about the product & service
The WiFi Network in Leysin is accessible in three ways:- wlan@thenet Free Service: You can surf for 30 minutes at a speed up to 256kbps. After 30 minutes the session will expire. To continue surfing you have to follow the login procedure again.
- wlan@thenet Premium (paid) Service: For unlimited and faster surfing (up to 2000kbps) with no time or volume limits you can choose various prepaid cards like from CHF 13.- per month or CHF 5.- for 4 hours or CHF 20.- for 7 days or many more a Prepaid Card online or at our Point of Sales in the town.
- MetroADSL Budget: allows you to get rid of your ADSL subscription being able to surf at the same time with several computers at a cheaper price. To combine with a MetroZone Alpine HotSpot to surf mobile in town. Prices starting from CHF 25.-/month!

FAQ:
What do I need to surf on the WiFi network?
You need an Laptop, a SmartPhone or another device with a wireless network card. They should fulfill the standard 802.11b or 802.11g.
Which kind of limits are there for uploading or downloading?
In general there are no limits in volume. There is a limit in speed depending on the product. The free service limits the speed up to 256kbps. The paid service (wlan@thenet Premium service) has a speed up to 2000kbps.
What can I do to get a better signal at my place?
You can purchase a managed repeater service for your home together with a wlan@thenet service, this will help you to get a better signal. Please contact our local partner in Leysin.
